Dear Church Family,
As we enter the new year it is a
wonderful time to reflect on 2009 and thank God for the things
he blessed us with. While not an exhaustive list these are the
2009 items that come to my mind: 1) The MHBC Family, 2) Adopting
the first ever Constitution and By- Laws for MHBC, 3) Our
partnership with Idlewild Baptist Church, 4) The Theology
Program, 5) MHBC facility improvements, 6) The approximately 50
people that accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior
through MHBC ministries, 7) The approximately 12 people that
publicly announced their faith through water baptism.
God has truly blest us with a great
2009, but we at MHBC are still in a period of transition as to
the place that God would have us at. Based on Matthew 25:31-42
our 2010 theme is "Give to Win in 2010", and that is just what
we plan to do. Here are a few things we are looking forward to:
1) Focus on the process of outreach, discipleship, and
follow-up, 2) Launch two new Sunday School classes (special
needs and young adults), 3) Set aside a time slot for a 2nd
morning worship service, 4) Worldview
Seminar on January 16th,
5) Constructing a new pavilion in Spring, 6) Ordain Justin Davis
in March, 7) Idlewild Mission Teams in June and August, 8)
Purchasing the equipment to video complete Sunday services and
mail a weekly DVD to our homebound members.
As anything that we do for the cause of
Christ, Satan will oppose. We simply ask that you pray to God to
provide for all of the 2010 needs, and that Satan will be
defeated.
